Spinal decompression is a process that draw fluids, nutrients and blood supply back into the disc, thereby "feeding" it and reversing the disc degeneration process.
Spinal Decompression achieves this by creating negative pressure within the disc, essentially forming a vacuum that sucks the bulging and herniated disc material back into the disc and relieves pressure on the muscles, joints and nerves.
Your Discs are the shock absorbers of your spine. They are like little jelly doughnuts between the vertebrae of your spine. Unfortunately, they are just like the shock absorbers on your car, they wear out with normal wear and tear. They also wear out more quickly with increased usage. Discs tear from the inside/out, creating bulges, protrusions, herniations and/or extrusions, which means that the jelly substance in the center of the disc ist leaking ou and creating unwanted pressure on the joints and nerves of your spine. Heatlhy discs are responsible for allowing nerve impulses from you central nervous system to communicate with the body and allow the body to continue to take care of itself, the way it was designed to. If you have a very active lifestlye and/or are over the age of 35 and are experiencing neck pain, back pain and/or numb/tingling sensations in the arms and/or a leg, it is likely that you may have a worn/blown disc.
One other thing to remember about pain that is related to a disc problem is that you can rub it, squeeze it, ice it, heat it or pop it until you are blue in the face and it will only temporarily relieve the pain.
